What is an umbrella school?
An umbrella school (sometimes called a "cover school") is a private school that homeschooling families enroll under. You continue to teach your child at home and choose your own curriculum, but the umbrella school serves as your official school of record — handling compliance with state law and issuing transcripts and diplomas. This differs from independent homeschooling, where the parent alone is the school of record.
Do I have to use a specific curriculum?
No. Stellar Homeschool Academy does not require a specific curriculum. You're free to choose whatever materials, programs, or teaching style best fit your child.
What grade levels do you serve?
We support families from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Will my child receive an official transcript and diploma?
